The Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce recently recognized six businesses and individuals who made significant contributions to their industries and in the community at its annual Business Hall of Fame and Business Awards Dinner.

Award winners were:

Business Leader of the Year: Chet Gladchuk, Naval Academy athletic director and head of the Naval Academy Athletic Association.

Small Business of the Year: Lures Bar & Grille in Crownsville, owned by Chuck Soja.

Advocate of the Year: Walter Vasquez, owner of Sin Fronteras in Annapolis and other restaurants for work representing the Hispanic immigrant community.

Anne Arundel County Economic Development Corp. Developer of the Year: MCB Real Estate for its redevelopment of Arundel Plaza in Glen Burnie.

Don Riddle Corporate Citizen of the Year: Cart Heim of HeimLantz in Annapolis.

Green Business of the Year: Environmental Quality Resources, a Millersville environmental construction and landscaping company specializing in stream restoration and reforestation.

Non-Profit of the Year: Lighthouse Shelter in Annapolis.
