UPPER DARBY — “A time to feel good about what is happening in Upper Darby.” That is how one official described the redevelopment of Drexeline, what officials are calling the western gateway to Upper Darby, now known as Drexeline Town Center.

On Wednesday officials broke ground for the mixed use project on State Road which will see a new ShopRite market, the return of PNC bank, 20,000 square feet of other retail, a new Wawa, 172 market-rate apartments and a 120,000 self-storage facility.
