Manager, Accounts Payable

The primary role of the Manager of Accounts Payable is to oversee our Accounts Payable department and will manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, supervise Accounts Payable staff, and ensure timely and accurate filing of 1099s. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with effective organizational skills, the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to excellence. Responsibilities will include prompt and accurate processing, payment, and accounting of all trade payables and to develop and implement best in class processes and ensure compliance with industry standards.
JOB ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage the preparation and filing of 1099 forms for eligible vendors, ensuring compliance with IRS regulations and deadlines.
• Coordinate the collection of W-9 forms and maintain accurate vendor records for tax reporting purposes.
• Work closely with the finance and accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and timely reconciliations.
• Prepare and process weekly payment runs, ensuring timely payments to vendors.
• Communicate with internal departments to address any billing issues or questions.
• Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions, reconciling accounts payable ledgers as needed.
• Assist in job costing by tracking expenses related to specific projects and ensuring that all costs are accurately recorded.
• Coordinate with IT, SAAS, and 3rd party AP processor to maximize automation of our payables process.
• Integrate Concur expense management with current AP process.
• Maintain a strong working relationship with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in the accounts payable function.
• Supervise and mentor staff of Accounts Payable Specialists.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in accounts payable or a related financial role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Accredited Accounts Payable certificate preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations, including IRS 1099 requirements.
• Proficiency in MRI, AvidXchange and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Effective team management skills, abilities and experience.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and best practices in accounts payable.
• Excellent accuracy/proofreading and attention to detail in all work product.
• Proficiency and consistency with prioritizing workload, multi-tasking, working independently with minimal supervision and meeting work deadlines.
• Time flexibility and adaptability to various changing working conditions based on priorities, with a willingness and ability to work extended hours as needed to meet work deadlines.

Physical Requirements:
This position is primarily performed in the MCB corporate office in an open cubicle office setting; long periods of sitting and computer/keyboard use; reading documents; spreadsheet calculations; phone and other electronic equipment. Typing dexterity needed; ability to understand and apply mathematical reasoning, calculations and formulas; minimal lifting (<20 lbs.), standing, climbing.
Salary Range: $70-75,000 annual rate, based on related knowledge, skills and experience level.
