MCB Real Estate is shaping communities, one project at a time. In partnership with a dynamic team of public and private collaborators, we recently hosted a ceremonial ribbon-cutting event to celebrate the completion of the impressive LOFTS at Yard 56.

This event not only marked the official opening of a state-of-the-art apartment complex but also serves as a continued catalyst for the neighborhood. Yard 56, located adjacent to the renowned Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in eastern Baltimore, Maryland, stands as an award-winning and transformative mixed-use development.

In earlier phases of this project, MCB successfully eliminated a food desert by introducing 100,000 square-feet of grocery-anchored retail and an 80,000 square-foot medical office building, providing crucial access to health and well-being for the community. The Lofts at Yard 56 offers 227 market-rate units and 5,700 square-feet of ground-floor retail space, drawing families and individuals from the region to this premier urban living opportunity in eastern Baltimore.

“It showcases that people who say that no one wants to invest in Baltimore, they couldn’t be more wrong. We know billions of dollars are going to be poured into the city over the next few years, and we want to continue to see that investment not just downtown, as is going to happen with the Inner Harbor. It just so happens this is the same developer. But around town and in neighborhoods, especially ones like this one. Here in Greektown in Bayview, that for many years was just ignored,” Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott said.
